What it is

Pet sausages, often sold as ham sticks, are soft sticks filled into a sealed casing and heat treated. They sit between a treat and a wet food: soft enough to break into pieces as a reward, but shelf stable in the pack.

The coloured casing is the main merchandising lever in this category, and we run several casing colours so a buyer can build a visually distinct range from one base recipe.

How we produce it

Sausages are produced on a dedicated sausage and ham stick line in our wet food workshop. The facility holds BRCGS Issue 9 at Grade B+, IFS Food Version 8 for pet food, and a GMP verification of conformity based on CAC/RCP 1-1969 (Rev. 2020).

As with our other wet food lines, our ISO 22000:2018 certificate does not cover this product category — its scope is dried treats, semi-moist food, biscuits and chews.

Specification and customisation

Stick length, diameter, casing colour, recipe and pack format are all set per order. Tell us the piece weight and the retail price point you are targeting and we will quote against that.

Ordering

Minimum order quantity is 300 kg per item. Samples are free with freight collect. Production completes within 45 days after artwork confirmation. Payment is by T/T.
